Dad didn’t make many requests for his memorial service, but he did make one important stipulation: if there’s music, it’s got to be, “He’s Gone” by the Grateful Dead. It’s a beautiful song, one we’ve heard countless times in our home, and in case you’re unfamiliar with the song, here’s the band playing it live in 1989, in Foxboro, MA, which couldn’t be a more appropriate venue given dad’s affection for the football team that plays there.
